Squaw Valley is not just for the big boys of winter; recreation abounds for any level of skier or rider, even non-skiers. The Cable Car and Funitel are available for site seeing year round. High Camp, accessed via the Cable Car, is basecamp for the Swimming Lagoon & Spa, Ice Skating Rink, Olympic Museum, plus several restaurants, all open year round. The Village at Squaw Valley, at the base of the resort, offers a variety of fine dining, eclectic shopping, plus frequent special events including art and music festivals. Really a year round playground, Squaw Valley Ski Resort offers winter skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding and horse-drawn sleigh rides. In summer, hiking, mountain biking and even organized star gazing are on the menu. For golfers the Resort at Squaw Creek Golf Course offers a "links style" championship course right in the valley.
